Karen received her formal training from the Ringling School of Art & Design where she earning a BFA focusing on oils and sculture. Karen moved on to other areas of insterest for several years but has returned to art for inspiration and joy.

Short Bio

Karen was raised in the Finger Lakes but relocated to Sarasota, Florida to learn the practice of art at the Ringling School of Art. For multiple years, Karen and family lived in several states around the country. They returned to the area in 2008. Being home inspired Karen to reboot her painting career.

Statement

Life is fragile but beautiful. The outdoors and nature, alive or not - also beautiful.  I am inspired by the light, color, emotion and creativity outside.  I use oil paint and cold wax in an attempt to capture and share a time; a mutually engaging moment, between the environment and me.
